Date 15-18.09.2008

DORII 1st Session: Tuesday 16 September 2008 13:30

DORII 2nd Session: Tuesday 16 September 2008 15:15

DORII project is an active member of this OGF group and wwas represented during OGF24 RISGE-RG meeting.

The RISGE-RG explores issues related to the exploitation of Grid technologies for conducting and monitoring measurement tasks and experiments on complex remote scientific equipment. The main purpose of this research group is to bring together various existing approaches in defining remote access interfaces to sophisticated laboratory equipment, as well as to come up with use cases that can dictate the requirements for integrating scientific instruments with the Grid.

During sessions the main goals and current status of RISGE-RG will be presented, as well as best practices. During second session it is foreseen to work on collected use cases

Agenda for first session:

1. Schedule of the sessions and current status - Marcin Plociennik

2. Developing a Common Instrument Middleware Architecture for Remote Instrument Operation - Peter Turner

3. Optiputer Remote Microscopy - David Wallom

Agenda for second session:

1. Status of the document with collection of use cases

2. Work on the document
