On the 21st of January 2009, the g-Eclipse consortium announced the first major release of the g-Eclipse framework.

The g-Eclipse framework was supported by the European Commission under the 6th Framework Programme in the field of
research, technological development and demonstration. At its completion, it achieved its goal of becomming a
user-friendly tool to access worldwide Grid and Cloud infrastructures. More information can be found in the press release.

The DORII project is involved in the g-Eclipse project by developing the Instrument Element (IE) integration.
It is planned to a part of the g-Eclipse plugins for the Java common library of the DORII software stack.
